1. Data Controller

2. Data we collect and for what purpose

2.1. Data stored locally (on your device)

• LocalStorage: we store your editing preferences (active style groups, light/dark theme, autosave settings, etc.) and the text you are currently editing (so it doesn't get lost if you accidentally close the page).
• Functional cookies: to know if you have visited the website before, and to remember your language. These cookies are necessary for basic functionality and do not require consent.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (remembering your preferences to offer you a personalized experience).

2.2. Usage analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: pages visited, time spent, traffic source, device type, browser, operating system, and screen resolution. This data helps us improve the tool.

• Cookies: Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users. These cookies are not essential. You can block Google cookies at any time.

Legal basis: your consent (we will request it through a cookie banner before activating Google Analytics).

2.3. Account data (when you register)

• Email address: to manage your account, send you important notifications, and, if you accept, communications about news and updates.
• Password: for authentication.
• Data stored in the cloud: so you can access it freely.

Legal basis: performance of a contract (managing your account and storing your texts are necessary to provide you with the service). Sending commercial communications will be based on your consent.

2.5. Advertising (future)

If we implement advertising, we may share aggregated and anonymous data with advertisers, but never personally identifiable information. Paying users will not see ads.

3. Data retention

• Google Analytics: data is retained for the period configured in our account (maximum 14 months). You can request its deletion by contacting us.
• Local preferences: they are deleted if you clear your browser's cookies or localStorage.
• Account data: it is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
• Saved texts: they will be deleted along with your account, or earlier if you delete them manually.

4. Security

We apply standard industry security measures:

• HTTPS: all communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted.
• Firewalls and access control: we limit server access to authorized personnel.
• Password hashing: we do not store passwords in plain text.

However, you should be aware that:

FlowStyler is not designed to store sensitive information. Although we implement all reasonable measures, no system is 100% invulnerable. We do not offer end-to-end encryption, and our servers could be compromised in a hypothetical attack. Therefore, we strongly recommend not storing in FlowStyler data such as passwords for other services, credit card numbers, medical information, banking data, or any other information you consider confidential.

5. Your rights

As a user (especially if you reside in the EU), you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Rectify it if it is incorrect.
• Erase it (right to be forgotten).
• Restrict its processing.
• Object to processing (for example, to advertising or analytics).
• Portability (receive your data in a structured, commonly used format).

You can exercise these rights by sending a message through our contact form. We will respond within a maximum of 30 days.

6. Third parties

We share data with the following third parties:

• Google LLC (for Google Analytics). You can review their privacy policy here.
• Hosting and cloud service providers (currently Hostmonster/Bluehost) where website data and, in the future, user texts are stored. These providers are located in the USA and comply with applicable data protection regulations.

We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

7. Minors

FlowStyler is not directed at children under 16 years of age. If you are a minor, do not use the tool or provide personal data without the consent of your parents or guardians. If we detect that we have collected data from a minor without proper consent, we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this Privacy Policy when necessary. We will notify you via a notice on the website or by email (if you have registered) before significant changes take effect.
